Just a small note: Not all 15P EU3 compliant engines have EGR cooler.

Perhaps I need to add a disclaimer to my sig?

The 15P and 16P engines were fitted from 2002MY onwards and had changes to make the engines comply with EU3 emissions regulations.

15P/16P engine had the following changes:

    - piston combustion bowl offset
    - injector pressure increased from 1000kpa to 1500kpa
    - injector stroke increased
    - rocker shaft and rocker specifications changed to accommodate longer injector stroke
    - Timing gear and timing chain upgrade to cope with higher injection loads
    - EGR cooler added
    - revised Fuel pressure regulator
    - external pipe for fuel return replacing a gallery cast into the head
    - Reflashable ECU

I'm sure there are other differences but those are the main ones.

    cheers

Paul. Any possibility that "Locktite on the oil pump bolt" might be on that list?
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

That list was pulled from quick scan through RAVE and only includes significant mechanical changes that are highlighted as being specific differences between EU2 and EU3.

There are two parts listed for the pump bolt - the original part was LYG101210, which was replaced at some point with the current part LYP101400. If you could identify the date the part was changed you might be able to find a change over date.

I've seen mention that it's 50:50 that a 2004My will have the loctite coated bolt, which suggests that the change occurred in mid production of the 2004MY.
