    Tail light swap.

    No, not D2a into D2.
Just chasing some info on swapping the indicators with the reverse lights.
Simple enough sounding job, but what I'm after is if you need to re-solder the wiring or can you just re-route the wires from the bumper lights up to the D pillar lights and vice-versa.
Will the same plugs fit or do I need to cut them off and solder them on the ends of the swapped wires?
    Cheers

Have a look/search on the D2 Boys Club Forum (UK), plenty of members have done the mod.

How does this work, when the lens up top would be white for your blinker.

    Orange bulbs
Only issue is it may be difficult to see, so I might actually just put D2a ones in.

id imagine you would use orange globes. This is also a mod i was thinking of doing, but more along the lines of fitting external blinkers (motorbike / truck type) high on the roof rack. I like your idea better. Will watch with interest.

Light bars.. every mine site vehicle has them over here. There was a complete one built in a rhino bar for sale on gumtree recently.

ADR 1/00 which covers reversing lights says:

    8. COLOUR OF LIGHT EMITTED
The colour of the light emitted shall be white. In case of doubt, the colour may be checked on the basis of the definition of the colour of white light given in annex 4 to this Regulation.
Last time I checked you couldn't change orange plastic to white by fitting clear globes

At very least you'd have to change to the D2a bumper lens.

Obviously I would swap the bumper lights. Who'd want orange reverse lights?
But the D pillar lights can stay the same.

Just change out the whole assembly, and then re-do the wiring...

TRS at Lonsdale, SA, have the D2a for $160 ea brand new, or under $100 for a good second hand one.

Once you remove the light, you should be able to see where the loom splits. Just cut & swap the reverse & indiancators...

    OR

Use the orange bulb trick. Same amount of time for the wiring, but might save a couple of $$$
