That is ; What use is a retune for more power as it seems that in my use of towing a camper up a big hill when I would want the extra power I couldn't use it because my EGTs would get too high.
 
I have seen it reported that even with a standard tune the EGTs get high towing on hills.
Aside from the vicarious thrills of showing off by accelerating hard and throwing lots of black smoke as in the other current post, how does a tune change the EGTs downwards so that they are no longer a worry, or do those who have an EGT gauge end up applying about the same power going up a long hill as someone running WFO on a standard tune, limited by their EGTs.
 
Assuming no other mods like bigger intercoolers, or staright through and bigger exhausts which would tend to increase power anyway.
