My Disco got Jelous - Window winder making aweful noises

Yesterday I was doing a service on the wifes KF Laser, and I think my Disco must have gotten Jelous.

When winding the front Drivers side window down today, I heard what sounded like a glass pane cracking.... crap I thought what has happened here. when I could, pulled over and found that as the glass is going down, it is actually tipping forward as it goes down, and must be catching, as after the crack, it straightens slightly so it can continue to travel all the way down into the door.

On the upward motion it is fine.

so I am guessing that the window regulator is malfunctioning. have done a search on here, and have come up with some fixes etc.

As if I was looking for something to do this weekend lol.

Moral of the story, is dont do any servicing to other vehicles, and just concentrate on the Disco

Are there any gotchas that I need to be aware of when removing stuff from the door?

    Cheers

    Matt

Mine does this too, including the last time I wound it down fully making a noise that sounded like someone copping a golf club to the teeth.
I'll pull the trim off and investigate when it stops raining.

Seems we are going to have the same problem with rain here in Adelaide this week, so ill be doing the same on the weekend.

By the way.... how often have you heard someone "copping a golf club to the teeth" Muppet? is there another side to you that you would like to tell us about?

    Cheers

And you've got to be a lot more specific about which club as well Muppet. Clearly a driver to the molars is going to make a different noise to a 9 iron.

Talk about leaving half the detail out

There are responsibilities bestowed upon me within my role in the Td5 Mafia that I would rather not discuss
9 Irons are good for classic value.
And without going into the gory details, it sounds rather like this.

Ahhhh, the TD5 mafia. I've heard of them. Aren't they the ones that if you upset them, they come around and leave a Turners head in your bed?

No, we pull both the heads off sissy boy V8s and leave them, because we all know what a pig the 3.9 is to work on
Don't upset us, you don't want to know what we mean by "Make sure his boost is fully wound out"

Well, if you're pulling heads off V8s, can you come round and do mine? It doesn't need anything doing to it, I just think I would enjoy sitting there watching some other poor bugger doing it.
