v8 cuts out+ fault codes
Just had the disco cut out on the highway,It had a couple of hickupps over a 10 km stretch then suddenly stopped with the m&s lights flashing,Hooked up the msv2 and it showed the below,I cleared the faults and it restarted and made it home with no further problems.Seems to pint to a crook crank sensor but what is the reluctor wheel? any other suggestions welcome.
P1000 = REFERENCE MARK DETECTOR FAULT (RELUCTOR WHEEL) DRIVE CYCLE A, WHICH HAS OCCURED ONCE
(SIGNAL INVALID, THE FAULT IS CURRENTLY PRESENT, THIS FAULT DOES NOT GIVE MIL LAMP ACTIVATION, THE FAULT HAS BEEN DETERMINED AS PERSISTENTLY PRESENT).
P1000 = CRANK SENSOR TOOTH FAULT (FLYWHEEL TEETH) DRIVE CYCLE A, WHICH HAS OCCURED ONCE
(SIGNAL INVALID, THE FAULT IS CURRENTLY PRESENT, THIS FAULT DOES NOT GIVE MIL LAMP ACTIVATION, THE FAULT HAS BEEN DETERMINED AS PERSISTENTLY PRESENT).

Have you looked in the workshop manual. Does sound like a crank angle sensor. Pretty sure the car will start again when it's cold and appear to be ok but once it's warm will shut down again.
Hopefully Paul will add some light to the fault codes.
Regards
Andrew

Last time when the cps went there were no m&s lights flashing, that is what is confusing me this time.I didn't have an msv2 so couldnt read the codes either.

v8 cuts out+ fault codes
The reluctor ia a toothed wheel is attached to, and rotates with the crankshaft. The Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) senses the openings & generates a signal which is used by the ECU.
The P1000 DTC you have listed does not appear in RAVE for a D2. I found a mention on an American site where it mentioned an intermittent power failure to the PCU.
Not much help I guess
As a matter of interest only P codes prefixed with a 0 are OBDE DTC's, those prefixed with a 1 are Land Rover DTC's

Crank angle sensor. Easy to replace.
I carry a spare with me on all trips as it is one of the things that seems to fail on the V8 and it stops you dead.
