    Firewall plugs.

    Afternoon.
I'm currently twisting myself into the passenger footwell clearing out some excess crap from the PO.
Trying to remove an old hand free antenna cable, and I seem to have dislodged the plug from the firewall that allows you to run cables through.
    Question....
HOW DO I GET TO IT?! There's an anaconda of a wiring harness in the way.
Can I just heave on the carpets to get them out of the way, or is there some tricky way of doing it?
    Cheers.

Ummm..... Leave it there & forget about it.

Get a piece of sticky back foam, cut it roughly to the required size, and stick it over the hole...

Unless you LIKE twisting yourself in knots, that is..

Having jest spent two days clearing sticky backed items, I'll be right
I can't even see the hole, it's in a real bastard of a place.

Out of sight, out of mind...

Besides, it will help the water drain out faster when you take it for a swim..

Mine, surprisingly, doesn't get water in it, despite a few wadings.
SWMBO is getting sick of wet feet though, and it's not the aircon drains.

I have no idea what you're talking about Sheerluck.....
I was clearly talking about automotive applications......

    In all seriousness.
I wedged the foam backed cardboard (I'm assuming sound/heat deadening) behind the heater blower temporarily.
Anything to make the plug a bit slippery, I just used a smidge of vegetable oil (first thing I found) and got one side of the lip in.
After that some careful pokes and it was nice and snug in place.

I'm always partial to a bit of silicon O ring grease or spray when it comes to lubing rubber items

Said grease worked a treat recently when I was doing the aircond hose extension mod to get the garden hose into the outlets.

    Cheers

    That would probably work well.
Like I said, it was the first thing I saw
