    Question Warning lights

    Hi,
Having trouble this time with warning lights. It first started with the SRS airbag light coming on, going off and then staying on. After a few days it disappeared and the dreaded M & S warning lights appeared with the D flashing which I have read could be the XYZ switch. It is also in limp mode, but will still pull away okay just won't go into top gear. Then they went out and all okay, but now the SRS and the M & S lights are on together and I am wondering if it could be a general electrical problem like oil in the loom, rather than a double problem.
    Thanks Cody

Suggest that you have your battery and alternator charging voltage checked out. A battery that is dying and not holding charge can cause similar problems.

Thanks for your replies, after reading my post I realised I hadn't even said that it is a diesel TD5, or that we have recently bought a new battery and had voltage checked because of the previous problem. Anyway problem has been resolved so thought it may help others. The red connection to the ECU had some oil on it and after intensive cleaning the problems have gone away. Obviously there are some issues going on because of the oil but at least we know what has happened. Had issues years ago with oil in the loom so it may have reappeared, problem with this model it seems. Cheers and thanks again.

problem with this model it seems.
    Hmm you could say that.
I have taken the gasket out of my red plug so the oil can drain away. I have a new injector loom , but some oil still making its way along the main loom.

    Question Three warning tones

Thankyou to all who have posted replies about out Landrover problems especially to Outback 1 who has been a great supplier of good quality parts. Unfortunately now another problem has popped up with warning lights. It doesn't happen consistently but sometimes when driving and then depress the brake pedal, three warning tones are heard and occasionally the off road amber light flashes then goes out. I have searched everywhere for a similar problem but no joy. Don't know how this is related and wondered if anyone has a clue.
Diesal TD5, battery in very good order, new injector loom two weeks ago.

    Thanks Cody
