By memory (and my Nano's dead ATM) when you enter the BCU it shuts down power supply to the dash etc.
Hi all, just working out how to use my new nanocom. I managed to program a new key pretty easy. Next on the list is to change the central locking behavior, but once I enter the Valeo BCU settings area the dash cluster resets to zero, fuel gauge and revs also go down to zero. If I exit out of the Valeo BCU settings menu or restart the car everything goes back to normal.
Would appreciate a confirmation if this is normal behavior as I'm not game enough to make any changes with this behavior.
Thanks
Tony

Clubagreenie is correct, perfectly normal
The instrument panel switches off when the Nanocom accesses the BCU.
I had an issue once where it did not come back on, a few uneasy minutes later and it was resolved
If you haven't had a good fossick around in the Electronic Diagnostics section yet you'll be able to school yourself up considerably on what the full functionality of the Nanocom is.
It's been a while since I checked if Black Box have done a firmware update for the Evolution. There are som helpful documents on their website too from memory. Colin was able to get one of his staff to begin making something of a user guide to the unit.
Enjoy the years of troubleshooting that lie ahead with your new toy.![]()
There is a recent update, it killed mine.
Hawkeye does the same, everything goes off. My heart stopped too!
