Mine was a slipped turbo hoseletting in air and same symptoms - check them first?
Hi all
Some help please. I was driving home up a hill and my 01 Discovery 2 TD5 just started blowing smoke (white I think) and lost power. I immediately pulled over and turned the engine off. RACQ came had not idea of course. But when I started it for him, there was only a little smoke. He said that he could not hear the turbo cut in but I'm not sure. What could this be? Thanks

Inter cooler hoses delaming on the inside is a really common problem. All looks good from the outside but inside is blocked. Only thing is you said white smoke, usually blows black if that be the problem. But worth a look
Mostly if black smoke means either a slip intercooler hose. I would definitely check thru all the hoses, if possible change all intercooler hoses to silicon hose.
