AARRGGH!!!! Who wants my TD5I can't get the bloody top nut undone[on the trans]transmission feeder pipe![]()
Many years ago I used to have an injector spanner that was made with that slot in it ( to allow a fuel pipe to pass through it .).
Trouble was if you put too much preasure on it , it would spread and slip.
I threw it over a motorway fence one dark night in disgust.
Keep the slot you cut as narrow as you can.
Regards Nick.
Yes they are called Flare Nut spanners or Brake pipe. They have a cutout to fit over the pipe, They generally are a heavier build than a standard ringy. However not sure you can easily get them in larger, above 9/16, sizes. I just do as Blknight does, Itsi bitsi catchee monkey! But I may have more patience! or am pigheaded and refuse to let it beat me

you reckon thats a hard nut to crack.
wait till you have to undo the front of the pipe from the Fuel Pressure regulator
some blacksmithing req to butcher a good spanner
Uri Geller would have done a better job but it worked.
something similar may be required ??

All back on and now I will put the new [freelander] thermostat in only have the multigrips so slow and steady again--figgered while I have it apart might as well!!!! by the way used a quality 19mm ring spanner and cut out space for pipe fitting also dropped the exaust made it quite a bit easier still a one handed job and very frustrating setting the retainer nuts and clamps in place---a little trick leave the trans nuts a little loose and do up the retainer nuts and clamps from the front to the back !!!!![]()
