    top hoses compressing

    hi

so after finding a leak on the heads we pulled the motor apart and put in new bearings, rings, honed cylinders, new water pump, radiator and gaskets took it for a good run over the last few days and on the way back picked up a new pressure cap as the last one wasnt holding full pressure (you could hear it releasing when under pressure).

got it back to my mate and we checked it over and tightened it up and checked for leaks which there was only one small dribble but al good now. put the new cap on and held pressure. got her home and popped the hood to find the top hoses compressed. undid the cap and they released. could this be caused by the thermo not opening properly as we have pretty much replaced every thing else??

    any ideas

    Im assuming you mean collapsing.

it means the vac vent valve on the cap is stuffed.
