    Stuff hitting the fan

Coming home from the #1 Daughters last nite halfway i heard (and I'm deaf as a post )a KaChing type noise under the Black Mariah as i was going along through the Steelworks i didn't pay much attention until the Squealy low water thingy i fitted on Monday starts doing its thing blinking and squealing.
i pulled over and couldn't see much except a little coolant under the car.
under the bonnet was different story,GREEN everywhere it shouldn't be and the A/C drive pulley front section sitting on top of the A/C pump as if i had left it there,no bolt visible.it had been jumped around by the fan and left a match head size hole in the radiator and half of all the blades missing from the fan.Luckily i was close to home and limped home slowly
So has anyone else seen this as a problem or am i just lucky.???
I have not touched the A/c pulley or pump since buying the car last November apart from fitting a new fan belt as part of a big service i gave it when purchased.
Any Ideas or Suggestions,I've already had the Beers so that's covered.
    cheers

Well for me its mostly brown stuff hitting the rotating air movement device. By saying that the 'front section of the pulley' I take it that it has split? which motor? is a V8 or td5? I have seen the pulley bearing seize up but that only shreds the belts or breaks the tensioner. Cant say I have ever seen a pulley come off like that aprt from the old V_belt type splitting from wear. Theres a first for anything of course and a good plug for a water alarm!

Yep same thing happened to me but no damage. Seems pretty common for the bolt in the centre of the A/C pulley to loosen and fall out.

It was the bolt out of the centre of the pulley which has been refitted and extra locktited just to be sure.
Injected Marine Grade Sikaflex into the hole in radiator with a 5ml syringe.
left it 4 hours and then pressure tested to 16PSI.
will do until i find another radiator.
Do they still make good old fashioned copper ones fot the L/R V8.???
    any suggestion would be appreciated.
    cheers

Good to hear it was solved easily Am sure that copper rads are available. Check your local radiator place.
