    Wink D2 EGR Removal

Hi. I'm about to remove my EGR out of my 1999 D2 Discovery and I was wondering if the water hose from the oil cooler can be removed at the same time?

I would recommend that you don't touch it at all. I'd be worried about disturbing it and it leaking everywhere. I'm not sure there is much to be gained by blocking it off.

    Bypass

Hi there it depends on what you want to try and engine type
10p EGR feed from exhaust manifold to EGR valve does not usually have the can with to coolant pipes bottom feed from oil cooler top outlet returns coolant to expansion tank but 15p does.

I bypassed EGR cooler on my 15p by running 5/8 heater hose from oil cooler outlet round back of engine (deleting steel pipe) and fitted a reducer 14mm/10mm a couple of inches below expansion tank to fit return fitting on tank.

That cuts out possable leaks at steel pipe and removes about a meter of pipes and connections.
Heater hose easier to source than standard reducers and LR specific clutter

I have seen some oil cooler outlets blanked but I prefer my solution should give better flow better cooling.
