    ARB Bull bar, 12000lb winch (wire cable ~48kg), rock sliders (25kg each), 265/75 Cooper STT's, 2" lift, bash plate (17kg), diff guards x2 (~4kg each), snorkel, engel.

    550-600km rural driving (ie home work etc).

    600-700km Highway.

    I used to get ~750-800km when it was stock

    have you weighed the car recently? i have similar fitted.
    i went to the dump on the weekend, just me in the car with half tank of fuel, a 12v battery to dispose of and 30ltrs of sump oil.


    2650kg?? the gvm is 2750kg for the manual td5....

    2650 that's cutting it close. I hope that number is different for a auto.

    Not to mention a weigh station will put you off the road!

    i am actually quite surprised, having just done an outback trip fully loaded i can guarantee i was over gvm. i am now rethinking my additions, can see rear bar and winch cable being two places to start.

    Assuming we do have similar set ups I still have about 250kg's to spare but fully loaded will also put me over. Winch cable seems the only option for me; don't want to take off protection. Maybe I should start weighing people before they get in my Disco

    Thats the thing though.
    I bet a fair chunk of us with a fair bit of gear run over GVM before we load up for long distance trips, quite possibly without realising it.

    which is where threads like this are useful for the unwary.
    i thought i was hitting the bumpstops too often in the simpson, can see why now. new springs should mask a bit of that.
