Three amigos - but only on hot days

I seem to have an issue with 3 amigos, but as the title says only on hot days.

On hot days first press of the brake when starting off will set them chiming. Or if i am only pressing the pedal lightly.

Today the amigos were on when I turned the car on, and I noticed the pedal had very little travel and was hard to push.

A while back a right abs sensor was throwing errors but it was intimittant and the amigos wouldn't turn up for months.

As soon as you start driving the brake pedal goes back to normal with no other signs. The 3 amigos always disappear when the car is restarted. If it is hot they turn up a little later.

Any thoughts if it is all related to the abs sensor with the symptoms described above?

You will need to read the faults again.

Your symptoms don't offer much. I have also experienced a hard brake pedal in the morning (while in Brisbane) so this is not uncommon.

When I first encountered the 3 amigos it was the SVS so I did option B. Have not seen them since (must be over 4 years ago).

    Regards
    Andrew

The hard pedal could well be related to a vacuum leak to the brake booster. If its minor you'd lose vacuum assist over night. That won't cause the amigos however.

As Andrew suggests getting the codes read would ID the cause.

I bet it was a right hand front sensor showing a fault . I think your up for a new RHF wheel hub. The bearing will be shot .

    Smile

Also right hand front sensor on mine. Auto mechanic said it would require a new hub at great expense, so I went home and cleaned the small glob of grease from the end of the sensor cancelled the fault code and it's been fine ever since (over a year).
