Seems like the crushable gasket for the oil return pipe.
I'm assuming replacing it with the turbo in situ is going to require some flexible arm work?

Hia folks.
Noticed a damp looking patch on the turbo today, it's where the pipe at the bottom of the turbo connects, I'm assuming it's an oil drain pipe or something similar?
Is it likely to be a gasket, or does it need to have some new sealant applied, or is it something more sinister?
248k, turbo looked fine when I inspected it a few hundred km ago and drives fine.

Its an 'Easy peasy tastes so cheesy' job Muppet.
1/4" drive 6" wobbly extension, 8mm socket and small 1/4" ratchet. Up from underneath.
DO IT WHEN ENGINE IS COLD
Pay careful attention to the flange on the pipe- they DO warp and there is nothing more annoying than doing the job AGAIN after you realise this.
If it IS warped, then remove the pipe from the vehicle, and resurface in a vice with a file, or a linisher. Linishers | machineryhouse.com.au

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

The bolts may just be loose. I have taken the drain hose off every time I change the full flow filter as it makes it easier to do. I have never replaced the gasket but turned it over each time. No leaks thus far.

Hmm...
I'd thought of that, but I've not touched it...
I'll give them a closer look tomorrow and nip them up if need be, if not then I'll order a new gasket on monday.
Had to remove this pipe to do my oil filter, and the old gasket was fkd. Got my new gasket in today and put it in but its leaking.
once it cools down ill put it off and hope to god its not warped as people have suggested. Should I use some sort of thread sealant on the bolts? is it possble is leaking through the bolt thread?
My other thought is there could be some old gasket on the block the pipe bolts to. would this cause a leak?
Cheers
Mat
I thought about removing the drain pipe yesterday when doing a oil change, but I’ve got the time down to about 15 minutes to refit the new filter now.
