    Key fob repair

In the past I have read on here somewhere that someone managed to repair there remote key buttons . I mean the button on the chip not the plastic outer case . Do you think I can find the thread again .
Was wanting to know where he sourced the button from , I can't remember if it was out of another key/chip or a replacement one .
I can no longer unlock my car , grrr .
I replaced the fob cases when I got the car about 3 years ago , I see you can get the flip keys now . Shame stick with what I have now .

    Thanks
    Chris

I bought new microswitches on Ebay from UK. I bought AFAIR switches for a Ford focus , but most switches though a different shape seem to have the same dimensions.
If Jaycar has them that is great.

    Hello Chris77

Just solder the switch back on with a bit of flux(the solder will bite onto the broken tabs..... it worked for me and is still going.

    Cheers,

    Jason

I know it's not the bit you need, but worth posting the link anyway for others!

I've got spare switches. The flip key case still uses the original circuit board.

    I have done the same.
Have you changed the battery in your keyfob?
There are a couple of little plastic locking tabs that hold the circuit board inplace, pry gently with a small flat srewdriver to get it out.

if anyone is after one or two of these PM me and I can send to you, RS components will most likely be quicker but they can't compete with the price I want for the limited number I have.
