Front prop shaft - sell or keep?

I have just replaced my front prop shaft and now am not sure what to do with it.
Should I keep it, rebuild it (also have a rebuild kit), or sell it (separately or with the kit for someone else to rebuild) ?

I ordered the shaft on Friday (Melbourne) and it arrived Wednesday (FNQ) so my way of thinking is that I would just buy another new one if this one starts to fail?

Also space to store this type of stuff is limited at the moment.

    Opinions and experience appreciated.

    Hi,

My advice is to keep the bloody thing, I wish I have changed or check mine before the recent trip which broke and rip my diff lock housing and cables. I wouldn't carry around on short trip but definitely worthwhile to have it on long trip just in case you detect the faulty shaft. I don't think is worth anything if the prop shaft is OEM as it design not to have any grease points. If is ordered from rover parts in Victoria usually takes about 2-3 days to receive the goods, so I don't think is a major concern. After market front prop shaft cost around $550 inc gst which isn't that expensive.

    I would keep it.

I rebuilt mine years ago after the factory uni's failed.

Its not missed a beat since and is now greasable....

    Bryan.

(Note to self: Must try to avoid hoarding tendencies)
