    Air Inlet Duct

Hi, Just removed the blower assembly and Air inlet duct for cleanup and found the foam "seals" on the distribution flaps completely rotten, the same at the join to the heater unit. The main problem is the flaps the foam is quite thin in order for the flaps to work correctly, and has a strong adhesive backing. Has anyone found a substitute or purchased original spares? Grateful for suggestions.

On my classic Rangie, I replaced all the seals in the HVAC system when I replaced the heater matrix. They were nearly all rotten or had come off and were floating around inside. I used Raven brand weather stripping RP59 and I have a pack of Moroday EDPM weather stripping (MWS11) sitting in the shed too - must have used it as well.
Anyhow, this stuff seems to stick really well (I washed all of the components in dishwashing detergent, then rinsed and dried really well) and the HVAC works much, much better.
There's quite a range of weather stripping around, so while the above might not fit the D2, there's likely to be something suitable.

    cheers,

    bidds
