    D2 tow ball removal

    Hi all i'm just about to purchase a camper trailer that has a off road poly block,so i need to remove my tow ball but there is the two pieces of steel that come down each side of the nut making it hard to turn a spanner,any ideas on the best way to remove the ball. thanks jamie

    spanner would be the only way, there are special ones you can get from superrepco for the job.

    Just did mine used a socket on the nut and a pipe wrench on the ball

    33mm ring spanner or socket and bar, with a plumbers wrench if the ball turns

    And if none of that works. Just cut the ball off with a grinder.

    Another option is leave the tow ball as is and buy another tongue and fit the Trig stlye hitch to that. Thats what my dad and I do. Easier to change the tongue than to change the ball.

    I cant help you get it off as it is, but I had the same problem.
    Once i got the ball removed, i p[laced a second spring washer under the nut. This then allowed one of those tow ball spanners from Super Cheap to gain enough purchase to remove and refit at any time.
