    Window Motor Stopped Working

Window motor just stopped working, just makes a whurrring sound & doesn't move the window. Can't see much of the motor assembly, it felt a bit loose but I don't know what if anything can be fixed.

Should I replace front motor with a rear door motor, can it be fixed?

the easiest and most worry free way to fix is with a complete replacement assembly. and then its good for another 10 yrs! At your local landy dealer or on evil bay, lots to choose from Land Rover Discovery 2 L H Electric Window Motor TO`01 | eBay or try a local - ish bloke http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LAND-ROVE...item3a85972564

If it's making noise it sounds like the motor may still be working and rather it will be an issue with the rails (I have had three front windows stop working - always the railings, not the motor).

teh pre 03? 1s had plastic gears mounted in a rubber bush which gives 2 failure points. The motor can still run if either of these have failed. But yes I had forgot the rails can be a problem 2

Check your regulators, the plastic wheels on the slide could be broken, common, usually the drivers side as most used. Lots of DYI repairs do a search.

Depends what's wrong with it. Remove it and have a look. Replacements are pretty cheap from the UK.
