I have the Terrafirma +50mm on my D2a and i needed to put longer brake lines on with the 2" lift.also you would need to look at the ABS sensor wire length as well.
The front Cross member under the Bellhousing needs to be remanufactured also.
i cut mine and rewelded it at a 20deg angle with fillet plates all round to retain strength
with a 3" lift you would need to lift the vehicle to it's maximum suspension extension and then measure the distance from chassis rail to the front drive shaft.
i lifted mine with my engine crane from both ends too and then went all around checking clearances and hoses.(one end at a time)
i also checked the rotation of drive shaft in case uni's were at too acute an angle.

Am interested to know what the ride quality is like with these shocks.

When you change the brake lines you might as well upgrade to braided lines, the ABS extensions are just an additional line with a male at one end, female the other. There's a few options for the crossmember, you can get spacer blocks, both flat so it drops the whole thing or wedge shaped ones that just drop the front edge.

Can someone confirm that the terrafirma pro sport shocks which come in a 3inch version for D2 which i have since purchased from the UK will not fit the D2. I know we can get the pro sport TF (terrafirma) 2inch which will fit the Disco 2 with a 2inch lift. But what about the 3inch shocks on a Disco 2 with 2inch lift.

I'm not sure I understand the above. How do the 3" shocks for D2 not fit the D2?

The 3" shocks on 2" coils will allow further drop but at the expense of probably dislocating the coils. So some retention method will keep the coil in place, but limit drop, but take the load off the shock in terms of holding the axle up.

It may also limit compression depending on the compressed spring length. You may bottom out the shock on high bump loads which can cause damage to the shock. The best bet would be to have your springs wound around the compressed/extended lengths of the shocks and then have the spring rates based around your planned loaded vehicle weights (but also allow for comfort when unladen).

Also if you end up going to the 2" shocks I'd be interested in the 3" shocks?

i run the +2 shocks, my old sagged springs were dislocating throughout the simpson desert. new springs and all looks well but have concerns over the brake lines etc but others run simalar and have no issues.

my terrafirma shocks and 2" lift (Blue springs unknown brand) ride like an air bag suspension really soft and very comfortable and no roly poly with ACE as well.

Blues are probably Lovells, which have Std height & rate, +2" std rate and +2" HD (for bars and winches).

I'm running the +2 HD's without the full extent of the weight they allow for and run about +70mm and they ride very well on std shocks so I'm thinking that's what you have.

I want to go to the +3" shocks and have some new coils wound at the HD spring rate and height to suit the corner weights with the F&R bars and winches. avoids all the adaptions required for the Bilsteins, I wans't happy with the Koni Raids (the large OD creates interference between the shock body and the inside of the front coils at full drop. The Fox's with remote reservoirs were excellent but got made too good an offer for them so they went on.
