    Standard D2 Alloys Tire sizes

    Hello together,

does someone know whether my Cooper STT 285/75/16 will fit on the standard 2002 solid D2 alloys?

    Thanks a lot

Depends if they are 7 or 8 inches wide...

They will 'fit' on both, but only legal on the 16x8's. Even still they aren't legal on the car as they are more than 50mm over standard.

    Cheers

    Hello Will,

Okay I believe they are 7 inch will ask TerryO who offered the wheels to me for the engineering certificate. more than 50 mm of a standard is okay as I'm about to get everything engineered.

    See my post here

Saw your other post just before.

There will be major inner-fender clearance issues with 33's on stock alloys, and will hit the radius arms etc etc.

I run skinny 32's on a RR and they just clear, however your tyres are much wider.

At the standard offset it will reduce your turning circle and they'll rub like buggery (can prevent the rubbing through extended steering stops).

May want to consider this, as a reduced steering circle may effect the ability to be engineered?

If you still want 33" tyres you may want to consider 255 85 16, I have seen these fitted to standard rims on a D2 with 2" lift without a problem.
    Cheers, David.

I have fitted a 275/70 R16 YOKOHAMA on the DII MY99 without any lift. I think, this is the maximum size of tyres.
