around 70 will sit it at normal ride height,, but thats with the weight of a car on it,, I'm not sure about pressurizing them with no weight------but at least all the bends will be on show,,

anyone inflated one off the car?

The instructions that came with my Dunlops sayd 145psi Max. I guess thats stationary as I expect them to ge higher during compression, while in use.

I have pumped them up to about 110psi and they looked to me like they were fully extended with no load in the vehicle. I didn't want to go any further and pop the bottom out of the bag or somehting silly.

Ay Chris bro, they more or less all leak in the fold area. No gash or anything just the rubber and the matting it is on separating a bit. The fold will go up and down with weight like you say ay bro, or on a slope. This is why it does everyones head in. You can spray soap, but if the fold is just right it will not leak then next thing your know your a. is back on the ground bro. Get 2 bags, change the one that is going down and have a spare. All fixed quicker than you can say fush n chups. And do it before the parts guy gets to sell you a new compressor too.

Well I cleaned enough of the shed out to get the car in , sick of working on it in the garage by the house as all the tools are out in the shed . Had a slight delay having to go to Sydney , bugger me it was windy there yesterday , but I managed to leak check it and nothing , narda , zip . My Mama always told me I was "special" , but I doubt I am 0.000001% special so I have swapped the bags left for right . If I get time I will hook up the car and trailer and dump the 4x4 on it , that usually makes it drop and then see what side drops .

To close the thread . It took a few days but I finally got the left side to drop . Good it was an easy fix , shame about the $$$ . Both bags replaced so it better not go down again .
Now back to the sterio replacement , not that I can afford it now .

As some one stated earlier, most problems are the bags.

This is my take on it. The bags can be purchased at a reasonable price, and I reckon that being a possible fail item, by this I mean a total vehicle disabled fail, if it gets punctured by a stick or something, we should carry spares.

I intend to get spares for mine and if I then have a problem I will chuck a new one in. If the problem is not fixed the old one the becomes a spare. If it fixes the problem buy another for spare, or if the leak was very minor it could be kept for emergencies.

The story

My right bag goes down when the car is parked on a non level surface , left to right . It also goes down when I drive my suzuki onto the trailer attached to the truck . Inbetween times it is fine , seems to sit at its normal height . When flat it usually pumps back up promptly . Once it refused to pump up , would start , get an inch or so and then drop back down . Took 3 attempts to get it up . Since then it has dropped about 5 times and has come back up fine .

I will have to go and read the manual but I think they try and self level on shutdown and this is when an exh vavle is sticking open .

Not exactly sure why it drops when more weight is on the back once shut down .

Anyone had a simillar issue to save me some time .

I have a similar problem - D2 2001 symptoms the same but I have noted that when I start the engine the car rises quickly until I open a door and then the car drops quickly. shut the door and the car rises immediately. I don't think that can be put down to a slow leak. Next time it happens I will open the door and turn off the engine to see if the car continues to drop.
