td5 d2 rugh running on cold start??

    hello guys..

I have just recently replaced my cylinder head gasket on my td5.

And after putting it all back together its now got a hard starting issue. but comes good whist warming up or driving 10 minuets up the road..

Issue is like fuel not getting into the injectors on cold start or electronic delay of fuel delivery on cold start or air in the line.

No response form the accelerator pedal with huge delays but than all of a sudden comes good and revs right up.

The fuel pump is quite and does not sound like an air getting into supply line..

I have replaced the injectors seals..
disconnected the Maf plug no help there..
bypassed the boost modulator that's not it.
I've had amv plug there computer in no faults there.
Checked the glow plugs and voltage operation there fine.

My next thought is to look at the fuel regulator operation to see if that's the issue..

I am baffled by this problem.

Try cleaning the injector harness and connectors with switch cleaner as a possibility. It does also sound like residual air in the fuel ways in the head but they should have completely cleared by now.

Does sound a bit like Maf sensor when you say delay in throttle and all of sudden picks up

I have a nanocom and if you know / can find out the procedure if it can be done with a nanocom, you are welcome to come over and do it. I am in Ferny Creek (Dandenong Ranges)

    Create a file and then...

Capture the engine readings to a file (use the disc icon on nanocom and put in a name) and you can then read them using td5viewer. Or look at the csv file. Look on electronic diagnostic forum on aulro for more details.

Air sucked into the fuel line, through the fuel filter? If you do the fuel purge sequence, before you try to start, does it run ok?

If you simply unplug the MAF the computer will use default values if this improves things then this is an indicator that all is not well with the MAF.
