    Water leaks in near blower

Tried to fix this leak I've had for awhile the other day, I put silicone around the blower intake under the plastic skuttle. Still dripping in when it rains heavy, where else would it be getting in..the firewall, can you get a cover for the blower air intake?

I have read that the water actually spills into the intake in heavy rain.

The fix is to apparently build a small dam around the blower intake, say with 10 MM nylon or similar. If I have that problem and the plenum off, I will probably use the lid of a Nylon storage box.

It gets there by running btw the glass and the plenum . It then runs into the intake into. The sealing area is now old . It's a bit ugly but I cured both our D2's by running black duct tape over this join plenum to glass . This allows the water to go past the join and past the intake . No more water in the blower and on the floor .

Years ago when one dealership had this problem, they made a shield out of thin tin (very much like a V8 valley gasket...) to fit over the intake.

I used thin aluminium flashing from Bunnings. It comes in a a roll and is easily cut with scissors. Cut a strip and bend it to fit the plastic inlet above the blower. Seal with Sikaflex. I made sure it was not touching and iron to prevent electrolysis. I'll post a pic when I find it.
