td5 head gasket failure
Can any one help me with this? I have had a head replaced on my td5 that after less than 6 months the head gasket failed.I feel that the repairer refitted my old head gasket. The evidence of this being that the head gasket was split down the middle, obvious aging & lack of any markings[laser etched part nos].I have been informed by other mechanics that most replacement head gaskets are laser etched & that ex factory are not. Is there any basis to these claims?
Thanks Paul wpg856

Was the head milled / shaved when the head gasket was replaced?

Have a look a this thread this is what happened to me, in my case it was a new head so the machining wasnt an issue.
TD5 Head Gasket
Maybe non genuine headbolts
