Question How to access dash vents?

Whilst running wires behind my dash I managed to disconnect (maybe break?) the linkages that open and close the climate (heater/airconditioner) vent on the drivers side of the dash of my D2.

I stole a picture of the dash and put a red circle around it:

Anyone know how I get this trim piece off so that I can repair?

Remove the CD player and the switch banks so you can get your hands up underneath the help lever them out. They just pop out, will only go back in the side they came from, there's a small metal washer that goes in one side.
That will get the vent out.
Removing the entire dash piece means HEVAC, drinks tray, etc also needs to come out, there's a fair few screws and it's quite fiddly but not technically challenging.

Yes, just use a thin kitchen knife and slip it in next to the pivot point and lever slightly and it will pop out of it's location hole.
