Okay Hi guys just registered today, thought id share my proper dual battery setup. So ive read quite a few peoples efforts to design and fit a larger battery ect where back passenger side with prihanna or arb tray, in behind storage compartment in rear of car, or the Columbia overland ones which replaces your existing but as many know it a no go as ecu jack ect are in way or is it?
for those interested my setup, I bought a tray from aedo fabrications via paypal pretty good tray easy install but where to put jack and ecu.
well jack went straight in the back with the other gear (lock nut, ratchet..)
the ecu however I relocated into the cabin. now big job aye but worthwhile I think, will post photos soon!, I disconnected my entire front harness rewired and extended the engine harness and wired into the fusebox area under steering wheel of the cabin looks mint and I reckon a better spot honestly.
I could now fit the tray with 2 optimas in place, now some may say why take ecu into cabin u can fit behind the new tray, well sure but tight squeeze and it risks hitting bonnet and u can get heat problems ect.. so with the ecu gone it made room for an isolator.
I made out of some 2.5mm ali an L bracket to mount my redarc iso.
I drilled the bracket out to use the existing bolt holes on the car came up a real neat job in end.
I recommend and auto spark for the rewire but other than that all good. now can use the piranha tray for a compressor
Photos soon
