A constipated job well done
Dont you just love engineering workshops? They always seem to be shut or busy or sleeping or or when you want them!!! HeHe

thanks
haha yeah! oh yes! this particular one id heard good stuff about, but cannot say my experience was a good one. he told me he was there so i could drop it off any time. so i did the extra drive, and then he wasnt there. so screwed myself up for no reason! he could have said yep, but ive got errands to run between here and here. not to worry though, the other place did a great job. and all done now
i think it is not leaking oil but i am not 100% need to clean all the sump off today to monitor for sure. theres a little hose that goes to the turbo that was culprit along with the blowing manifold for the oil leak. im not sure i trust the little hose or its bolts haha

I did this on my old TD5.

I can also recommend drilling the outside holes out to 10mm. Leave the inside holes the regular size to ensure alignment with the ports. Having a little room around the outside holes means the manifold can move a little rather than shear off the studs as the differing metals expand at different rates.

oh yours looks good!!! and nice new turbo, how do you find that? i am looking to get a new turbo in the near future. just trying to sus out the right one that will boost power but not give me a lot of lag. cant remember what i put on my skyline but that came on fast which was great. the manifold looks good black, i wanted to paint mine black, but they had no black heat proof paint in
the only thing i did not do was drill those end holes bigger, but hopefully it wont break any studs again. my oil return line was leaking. may or may not need to replace it!

I believe the turbo was designed for a 3.0 Nissan Patrol. It's a variable geometry turbo so no waste gate and very little lag. It spooled up quick but still worked well at higher engine rpm.
I got it through turbo engineering in Thomastown Vic. It was a few years back now so not sure if they are still in business.
