Thread: How on earth do I get the td5 sump back on?

    remove the bump stop, then insert your jack between the chassis and the axle where the bump stop was.

    or if you have more gear available to you, jack it up, chassis stand it and then let the jack down to get the axle to droop.

    Maybe I have a different looking floor Jack as I can’t see any way I could physically fit a jack in there to Jack from the bump stop point

    another quick one - I didn’t get enough space to clean out the oil pump bolt thread and I’ve put the new LR thread locked one in, but now I’m stressing that there would be some residual oil in the thread and the threadlocker won’t work. Am I stressing for no reason?

    Yes. thread lock is anaerobic. where it seals in the thread it will harden.

    No problem, I just wasn’t sure what the specs of the yellow LR applied threadlock was. If it will harden that’s great, it’s just a few instructions for this job stress cleaning out the thread hole

    that’s great, thanks, it’s just that with the tiny bit of access, most of the threadlocker I applied extra probably was wiped off. It would mostly be Land Rover factory yellow threadlocker in there now
