ES Leather Steering wheels Are they Real Leather??
I assumed the "bound leather" steering wheels on the Discovery ES were real leather until I tried to apply leather dye to the top of the wheels worn surface. It must be leatherette a synthetic leather?
I bought some dye from the UK to keep for the leather seats. Oh by the way the skirts of the leather seats is Vinyl, you only get leather on the seat faces.

Interesting... I had no trouble touching up a couple of small scuffs on one I fitted at Christmas, which came off a 2003 platinum edition D2a. Used some shoe dye/paint from mr mint and they've almost disappeared.
As for leather seats only having true cow on the facings, that's been the norm for most manufacturers for many years now. Saves $ and most people don't notice. I believe BMW are doing totally fake leather on some models now.
Cheers
Steve
