    High Flow Diesel Pump

    Hi All,

    Dropped into the listed cheapest local for Diesel today and they only have high flow pumps. Of the pumps it says not suitable for cars and 4WDs.

    Does anybody know or use the high flow pumps to fill up???

    I used to use the high flow pump on a previous 4wd with no issues. The nozzle won't fit in my current Golf though.

    I use my local Garage hiflo pump, much faster delivery than the ****ant ones on the normal garages. Makes a big difference when your pumping 80+ litres into them.
    On a normal pump I have time to go round and clean all the windows and then some more stuffing around while I'm waiting for it to fill before it clicks.

    I've used a high flow in the D2a and had no issues.

    high flow will fill up to a D2 with no problems (not sure about after them, havent had to fill one yet)

    but you will miss 5-6L as they foam like buggery (and then you can trickle fill to get the ullage space on top of that)

    Used them many times no problem. Just trickle at the end due to the foaming from the faster fill rate.

    I find that the further I can put the bowser nozzle down into the filler the more I can get in (& faster) before I have to do the final trickle.
    Yes I know it sounds rude but its not, honest!

    I was using the hiflo on eastlink BP southbound yesterday. This was the highest flo pump I had used, I need to control the fill rate as it back splashed on full bore instantly.

    The reason servos have the 'Not suitable for cars & 4wd' is due to too many splash backs causing diesel spills on their forecourt.

    If you're going to use a hiflow pump start off slowly, as some are higher flow/pressure than others.

    I always find the hiflow pumps cause alot more foaming so it can sometimes take longer to brim the tank.
