Rear door speakers. Found a replacement

If anyone is interested in changing the rear door speakers. I found a woofer that fits. Apparently Kicker make one as well but they were about $150 ea.

There are not many choices for 6.5 inch woofers. most are 10 inches or more.

These were about $13 from Amazon and I bought them with some shoes for the wife so I saved shipping. They sell for about $80 here in Australia so I thought it wasn't too bad of a deal.

Whoops. I just found out I lied.

They don't fit perfectly. I'm going to have to do some trimming in the door for the maganets to fit. It's there diameter not the depth.

    Happy Days.

Luckily for me I had an old pair of splits laying around so I just used the woofer out of them. Not that it makes a huge difference but the stock speakers are 2ohm, and most replacements you will find are four.
In the end I found a much better replacement

Nope but as you can see from my pictures the new ones are shallower.

I got the idea from some other Landy Forum. These were recommended but there was no mention of trimming required. It's not going to be much, maybe 5mm.

This is how much I had to enlarge the hole in the door.

And 7cm plus the thinkness of the door card is how much space is behind the speaker box.

    Happy Days
