    switch check

I thought of swapping the plugs on the switches but they are different front to rear and there are more pins used on the rear plugs as to the front.
I still feel that the thread given by 'kwackpeg' is a good possibility but am at a loss as to where to look for any earth other than the body to battery.
It was 300km+ of badly corrugated roads and something may have worked loose.

    Devo,

Rave CD will give you grounding points on the chassis but from memory there is one - up high left from the glove box / from the fire wall to engine mount should be a ground strap, mine was frayed so I replaced it. On negative lead about 5cm back from from battery should be a join to the side inside wall of front driver fender.

My BCU was clicking away when I pushed the window switch and that was all. Key in ignition - Off. Put a fluke on the earth point near BCU (up high on left hand side) and another earth point and check the reading... Wants to be 0,00 VDC or close to it. Then with this connected, get someone to turn key in the ignition. See if there is any peak on the reading of the fluke. If grounding is good then it should not fluctuate. Next step I would do is get someone to press window switch and see if that provides a difference in the reading on the fluke. (Inducing current).

Work back through the grounding points on the car to battery and keep checking. There maybe a ground lead that is broken. From memory I think the mechanic said there are 2 main grounding cable that go through the fire wall.

    Good luck
