G'day Crew, Well my Disco has decided I have had it to good for too long. During 4 years of ownership I have had to replace one airbag and attend to that stupid coolant leak under the throttle body. Now after finally rectifying that leak she has started leaking at the left hand side rear of motor, I am assuming it is the head gasket leaking though thankfully no sign of coolant in oil or vice versa. Is there a possibility it is not a head gasket? Any tips appreciated.

V8 head gaskets only have coolant passages at the extreme front or back of the head. If the leak is at the last head bolt or around the back it's most likely a gasket leak. If it was leaking anywhere in the middle of either side it would be a cracked head or block. You should do both head gaskets, new head bolts or ARP head studs preferably, and basically any other gaskets in a VRS kit. A single day's job if you're competent on the tools.

Thanks for that, gives me a reason to replace leaking rocker cover gaskets and think I will do the front crank seal same time.

Not yet Michelle, looking at Roverparts in Ballarat going to try a couple of others as well
