    Lean to the left?

    Gday guys,

I have a 2004 D2 and love it, though after installing a 2" Lovells lift I have noticed that the vehicle is lower on the drivers side.

Is this a factory issue that the lift has made more noticeable? Any tips would be appreciated.

The lift comprises of 4 x Lovells coils and Lovells shocks all round suited to my requirements and were installed by a mechanic.

    Thanks in advance, Matt.

I'd be checking to see if the coils are left hand/right hand side specific.

Just because a mechanic did the job does not always mean it has been done correctly...

Drivers side springs are normally longer than passenger side - sounds like they may have been incorrectly installed.

As Franz says, Drivers side springs tend to be longer/ heavier to compensate for driver, batteries, controls, etc. All of which are not on the passengers and how often is there only a driver in cars? Also if the lean is quite pronounced check that a rear coil has not been swapped to front as they are all the same diameter front or rear on discos and early rangies, only the defender 130's and trays are bigger at rear.
    Cheers Scott

Check the pictures in this thread. Notice the height difference in my Dobinsons. The taller is the drivers side.

Vehicles are supposed to sit lower in the drivers side. It compensates for the camber in the road.

    Drivers weight is rubbish.

Then why is the drivers side spring longer?

Because it's mislabelled by people who don't understand.

Go measure any vehicle on the showroom floor. Tell me if you find any which are factory set to lean left.
All that I have checked lean right by 5-10mm.

You'd better have a word with Land Rover then.

    www.discovery2.co.uk / Front Springs

The spring lenght information in the tables is taken from RAVE for a Right Hand Drive Discovery 2. The spring combinations are either both the same lenght OR drivers side is longer.
