Anyone recommend longer shocks with standard ride quality..?
Hi all,
Finally, I have been able to buy mums old D2 off the parents, and am looking at fitting a 50mm lift to clear the 265/75-16's I'll be fitting a bit better.
In my experience all the aftermarket shocks seem to make Land Rovers ride like Toyotas (not a good thing), can anyone recommend a +2" (or more) shock that retains the quality factory ride?
The D2 will be a daily/tow rig/tourer, so needs to be something decent.
Cheers
Will

I run the Bilstien 7100s with 360/80 valving.
I have never experience the standard D2 ride as mine had the original shocks with 163,000km on them when I bought my D2 but I can say the 7100 shocks with that valving is pretty compliant. I have thought a few times it might just be a little too compliant but never enough to really say they are too soft.
Mine has SLS and the good thing about that is when it's loaded up you still have the same distance between the axle and the bump stops.
Happy Days.

Stock off the shelf billies are good. Can vouch for them as a nice ride. Speak to Bilstein au.
Cheers
