    V8 Idler Wheel Alternative

When the plastic idler crapped itself and took out my belt, I choked at the cost of a LR part.
Found an alternative, which is metal for a falcon and at repco.

Still going strong a year later, found the box and thought I'd add the details.
    Might help others.

The one on the tensioner is plastic (and mine just cracked), my idler is steel though, but may not be original.

I did this modification and some 30k klms later a bang from the engine on start up and when I looked the belt was all over the place. It wasn't until I tried to fit a new belt that I found the tensioner had been ripped out of the aluminum housing. Luckily it happened in the driveway!

Not sure if the metal replacement caused it or not. But it makes you think.
