Powder Coating 16 inch alloys
I'm about to have my 16 standard rims powder coated as the original finish is buggered. I'm thinking of going silver again but not 100%, has anyone had theirs done and what colour did you go could you please post some photos

I was thinking of doing mine too, just a sort of satin black to match the front bar and arches? not sure though.

A way to trial different colours is to spray with plasti-dip. Applied correctly and can be peeled off if you change your mind. Google "plasti dip alloy wheels" to see what is possible.

I painted my black using hi temp engine enamel with a primer. Worked a treat and looks good. So far about 10k klms and no scratches. A lot cheaper way of doing it.

After more that 10 years the rims on my camper showed the damage from many dirt roads. With the original tyres being over 10 years old and doing a Birdsville trip I decided to sand blast and powder coat the rims while getting new LT tyres for the camper.
Well when I got them back they looked a million dollars.. All white with new tyres.
After one trip they looked worse than they did after 10 years with paint... Even the powder coat guy didn't know why they looked so bad... I bought some cans of powder coat touchup paint and sprayed them..
Like Battler says just paint them. Easier to touchup too.
