TD5 coolant leak to watch out for

Here's a TD5 coolant leak to watch out for.... It's coming from the lower Rad hose where a plastic locator clip attached to the adjacent hose has rubbed a notch into the Rad hose Follow the water stain trail from the drip on the metal pipe at the foot of the image up the hose up to offending clip (circled) - I'll sleeve the "new" Rad hose at that point and also a little bit lower to where the two the hoses also in contact and are abrading each other.

Ensure you check that trans oil cooler hose where that clip is too. With that angle it would tend to chafe.

Yes this is a problem with rubbing against the power steering lines as well. A large cable tie well placed will solve the problem.

    correction......

...... it's not the Bottom Rad hose thats leaking it's actually the long section of hose coming from the Top Rad hose that drops down beside the Radiator. Of course it would have to be the most expensive hose on the truck wouldn'tit

The top hose can also rub against the air con compressor outlets and wear a hole up at the top near the bleed screw.
