TD5 MAF testing - bad economy

I recently cleaned my MAF and after about 5k km's economy is not great.

I don't have access to a nanocom or another MAF, but would like to know if my MAF is still working.

What is the best way to test the MAF in this circumstance?

Try unplugging it and if runs better then you will know it needs replacing. If it makes no difference then it could also give a clue that it is no longer working and the ECU is replacing the output with estimated values to keep you going.
