    ARB Fridge (47l or 60l)

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has fitted a current ARB 47l or 60l fridge in the back of the D2a ? If possible can some one please post pictures ?

Also is a 47l sufficient for a family for a 4 days away or do I need to go up in size ?

    Thanks

It doesn't matter what size fridge people buy, they seem to be able to fill it.

So people with a 60 litre will tell you that is the minimum acceptable size. People with a 40 litre will probably say that is big enough.

Our family of four managed with a 15 litre fridge on a six week trip.

We run a Waeco CFX65 in the back of the Disco on a Waeco slide.
It's snug but it fits nicely.

We get the butcher to vacuum seal all our meat into separate meals, then it all goes in the freezer section. I wouldn't want anything smaller and that's just for 2 of us..

47L ARB in back (LHS) of D2a on an MSA Drop slide (sitting ontop of a drifta drawer setup). Comfortably does 3x of us for 4-5 days. It's "packed" and full when we leave and thins out over the trip. Wost issue is juggling "drinks" Not much room to start off ... plenty of space towards the end.

Meh. I've got a waeco 80L dual zone. Takes up most of the boot, but everything is in the camper anyway.

    Hi Fluids,

Are you possible to able to post a picture of your setup, just so I can get an idea. I was thinking along the same lines as you have described, but a picture will complement your description.

    Thanks

Whilst not an ARB fridge, see attached a setup for a Waeco 50DZ, may assist with ideas.

    Here's our setup:

Engel 40L sitting on a Piranha fridge slide in a Fourby Fitout drawer shelf system.

My Wife and I travelled for 9 Months with this setup - very user friendly as the fridge is at floor level and it leaves heaps of storage space for other gear in the back. 40L is more than enough room for 2 and would suit a family as long as you catch the occasional fish!

    Cheers

Anything over 50ltr seems too big for extended travel, if you cannot survive out of a 47ltr for a few days have another look at what you are packing. Drinking red wine cuts down on space used.

If you're touring I would agree, if you're going bush for more than a few weeks to a static location the extra space is necessary IMO
