    V8 or TD5 Auto trans for transplant?

    Hi again out there.
    I am about to have my auto box replaced with a low mileage s/hand box.
    I have an upgraded TC coming from TCT in Melbourne.
    Is asking for a V8 tranny of any benefit or not?

    If your trying to fit a V8 Trans into a TD5 then you'll find the Mountings different, the TD5 uses much larger mounts ( The rear extension housing on the TD5 is longer) so you would need to swap those. The Bellhousing also needs to be swapped

    Thanks Roverlord, so the workshop wont want to fit a V8 one for the price quoted as it will be extra work.
    That figures, I wouldn't either, just thought it was worth asking.
