Weird goings on with D2
Ok, I always reckon almost anything that goes wrong in a Landy has happened to someone else before, so who has seen this before.
It is a V8 auto. I started it up this arvo and was sitting mucking around with my phone before I planned to drive off. While sitting idleing I heard the motor start sounding a bit rough, almost to the point I thought it might stall. As this happened, the speedo needle went all the way around to the far right and stayed there for 10-20 seconds. Then, just as suddenly the speedo returned to normal and the idle sounded normal again.
Any ideas?

Not experienced this but would guess at either SLABS or ECU or the wires in between. Apparantly the ECU reads the speed signal sent from SLABS. So in your case speed signal was high and this affects the idle control performed by the ECU.

Wow. Surprisingly it seems it has never happened to anyone else.
It has not done it in the past couple if days so hopefully it was just a "landrover" glitch.
