Yes, the link doesn't work.
Howdy folks, my disco just started making this horrible noise, I suspect isa bearing but not sure which one. hpoe that the video works and you can hear it. but it is loud near the drivers door down low too. it is quieter if go to the passengers side. the fan seems smooth when i move it manually myself so do not think it is the viscous fan.
the rattle noise is the engine cover, needs a couple more washers haha.
if you cannot view the video let me know, i do not normally upload videos to photobucket
thankyou in advance![]()

does it work now?
Yes it does, but it is hard to hear anything other than engine noise until the last few seconds when the camera was down near the bottom of the door. Very hard to tell what it is - afraid I can't help you with identifying it.

thanks, it is hard to video things, other noises seem way louder than in real life, and seems to swallow that noise up somewhat.
I know what you mean. I have had a listen to it a few times and it certainly doesn't sound serious to me. Could even be something like a tappet or injector. Someone else with more knowledge of that motor may be able to help. Hope it's nothing serious.

Might help if you could keep the camera in one spot and stationary and record the same noise for at least 20 secs in that spot. With the camera moving you pick up other noises and it is hard to get a fix on the noise. If loudest from underneath try placing the camera on the ground and recording with no movement. You can also removed the engine cover to eliminate the rattle as well.
I have been able record a sound file and had a LR mechanic pick up the problem straight away so it can help.
Thankyou, ill record another tomorrow and upload it without the engine cover. Ill do a couple from different places![]()
If you are talking about the "squish" "squish" noise , to me it suggests something to do with the drive belt as its frequency sounds too slow and regular to be anything else.
I would remove the drive belt and check the bearings of all the idlers and tensioners, alternator, Power steer, and harmonic balancer for play or roughness.

Hard to tell by watching the Vid, does it sound like a bearing noise? I had a grinding noise which was resolved by swapped out the viscous fan pulley bearing (SKF part).
Try and temporarily drop the belt and idle it for a few seconds to rule out any pulley bearings?
