    Sun damaged Washer Bottle Tank

    Hi All,
A flaw in the ARB bar design is the washer tank is exposed to the sun.
On mine the harsh WA sun has made the plastic brittle to the point of splitting and a hole forming.
I have a replacement tank. Does anyone know if I spray it with silver or black automotive paint if it will damage the tank? I'm hoping to prevent this happening again.
    Thanks
    RR

Do you think the paint will provide enough UV protection?

Sounds like a good idea and I have not heard of paint damaging plastic.

Could always wrap it in alfoil.

The other way of looking at it, is that the original has lasted (up to) 15 years. You still going to be the owner in 15years time when it needs replacing again?

Thats got more merit than it sounds!
I think I will just put some material as cover. I'm nervous about painting.

I hear you! The replacement is itself probably 15 years old however it is not showing the same signs of sun damage. I will do something to protect it but probably not paint.

I got one of these (Thanks CJT) after fitting an XROX bar.

    D44 Discovery 2 Slimline Washer Bottle 1998 - 2002

Just give it a lick of paint...
