    Question Front shaft viabration

Yeah I know, I know there has been umpteen thousands of threads on this issue BUT, I can't find one to suit.
I recently replaced all the unis and bearing in the front drive shaft (tail shaft).
Since then I have a fine but very noticeable vibration and am wondering if maybe I didn't get the small bearing in the 'double cardan joint' seated properly.
Everything went together OK, but there did seem to be a lot of tension on the little spring when fitting the last U joint, also when flexing the joint after assembly the spring tension was apparent, or it could just be that I did not take enough care to keep the pieces aligned as pulled apart and a balance will do the trick.
Anyone had dealings with the alignment bearing before and can give me any advice, other than pulling it apart again, to be sure to be sure!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks for taking the time.

    Cheers

    Mike

Maybe the centre bearing wasnt driven in enough?
Would account for the spring being under greater tension?

Or needle rollers fallen in trapped at the shaft end?

I recall there's a small hole in the casting to allow grease trapped behind the bearing to exit, maybe blocked?

    Regards

Thanks Northiam, I was wondering about not having driven the brg in sufficiently, but the seal went on all right, needles are OK I'm sure, it's just such a PITA to dismantle and find it's OK but I guess if I don't I wont know.
No point atking the shaft to be balanced with a mechanical problem.
BTW, any idea of the difference between HD and std U joints? I figure if one had a thicked X it would have to have smaller needles, thinner X less strength but bigger/less needles.

    Cheers
