    Leaking radiator, recommended replacement?

After fitting new coolant hoses the other week it seems the radiator has started leaking from where the top RH retaining screw goes
Did think at the time to fit a washer under the screw, but forgot
So my question is, do I only go for genuine?
What are the brands to avoid?
    What have others fitted?

    Island 4x4

    Dylan,

I brought a Nissen brand one from Island 4x4earlier this year and have had no problems with it, and they are good to deal with.

just make sure you order the one to suit your model year.

If its just leaking at the top cover screws you can simply seal the screws with either teflon tape on the screws, or fill the void with expoxy glue or RTV sealant. No need to buy a whole new radiator if its still OK.

Mine started to leak from the same place but because i had just repaired the small pipe at the top of the tank that snapped off i think the tank has gone brittle and next the top hose outlet might crack and cause more damage so i bit the bullet and got a newy a GM made in Scotland from Roverlord $360 free del.

hi Dylan. Assuming you are talking about replacing your original, in which case you have had a good run, Franzone (when they really were Franzone) said you can't go past OEM and that's all the TD5 needs even in OZ. If you won Lotto, you could go for one of the bigger alloy core versions being advertised. I checked with a Queensland co a couple of years ago whose name I now can't recall - $1K. Don't know how good they are but Aussie Desert Cooler from Vic looks interesting and claims to be made here.
How did the ARB bar go?

Talk to these people, www.mrautomotive.com.au the radiators are made in Denmark, not China. and are well priced. Bob
