    Hi dearot,

My new TD5 alternator including vacuum pump arrived from Rimmers this morning, fitted and peace of mind with a new unit. Cost was 229 pounds plus 50 pounds freight. Only took 3 days to arrive in Perth.

I needed a new Alternator quickly so I got one locally same day.

Repco could get me an OEX brand next day.

Local auto electrician that advertsises on Ebay had one in his hand, an OEX brand one for $365. It came with a 2 year 40,000 KM warranty, after quizzing him he stated he was happy to back it, has sold quite a few and never had one come back Land Rover or any other model.

Fitted straight in and going fine.

As stated somewhere here it's better to get a new one as you are getting a new vacuum pump for safeties sake.

    Hi dearot,

The one I got from Rimmers was a Denso.

    Sorry dearot,

I didn't fully answer your question. The Denso alternator is OEM (original equipment manufacturer) so genuine.

Looks like a good deal on eBay if the freight is free. Rimmers was good for me as I was able to buy additional parts in the same package ie; Belt and tensioner with idler pulley.

    Smile Perhaps..

Give Ashdown Ingram a call in Sunshine West. They may be a helpful point of contact. I think Vella Crescent off Somerville Rd, not so far from you.
